INFLUENTIAL WORLD EXPERTS, INNOVATORS AND STUDENTS ARE DISCUSSING IN BULGARIA THE EDUCATION OF THE FUTURE

THE GLOBAL NETWORK OF TEACH FOR ALL AND TEACH FOR BULGARIA WILL HOST TWO MAJOR EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCES AT THE END OF OCTOBER WITH THE SUPPORT OF AMERICA FOR BULGARIA FOUNDATION

Some of the most influential world experts and international leaders in the field of education will gather together in Bulgaria during two major events at the end of October 2016.

They will attend the Annual Global Conference of Teach for All, the international network for equal access to quality education, between 25th and 27th October at the American University in Blagoevgrad. This is the first time the forum will take place not only in Bulgaria but in Europe, too. Right after that, between 28th and 29th October, the educational topic will continue with the fifth edition of the National Conference on Education, 2016, in Sofia.

The co-organizer of the two events is Teach for Bulgaria, with the support of America for Bulgaria Foundation and in partnership with Teach for All, the European Commission in Bulgaria, Association Education Bulgaria 2030 and Forbes Bulgaria.

The two conferences aim to show the possibilities and challenges in front of the world education. They are a useful platform for exchanging good practices and ideas from successful innovative schools to help grant every child equal access to quality education in ХХІ c.

The global conference of Teach for All is a traditional annual meeting of renounced international leaders, experts, representatives of national organizations, teachers, peers and partners from the global community of Teach for All, part of which is Teach for Bulgaria Foundation.

In 2016, the motto of the forum would be Reimagining Education. 400 guests from over 60 countries are expected to take part in the event. The Bulgarian President, Rossen Plevneliev, will be attending it together with the minister of education and science, Meglena Kuneva and the chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Education and Science, Milena Damyanova.

Among the main speakers at the event will be the educational leaders Jenny Nagaoka, a prominent researcher from the University of Chicago in the area of modern education and skills development of ХХI c.; the Finnish entrepreneur and innovator Saku Tuominen, a founder of the Scool educational campaign assisting schools to integrate and develop innovations; Kiran Bir Sethi, who founded one of the most progressive and successful schools in India, Riverside School, and a finalist for the Global Teacher Prize for 2015; Sara Cotner, a founder and executive director of the school network, Montessori for All, based on Maria Montessori’s method as well as a lot more founders of innovative schools and educational projects from all over the world.

Apart from them, the conference in Blagoevgrad will be attended by more representatives of all 40 national organizations of Teach for All as well as key leaders of the network.

During the forum in Blagoevgrad, the main focus will be on the Bulgarian context, challenges and opportunities in front of our educational system.

Students from partner schools under Teach for Bulgaria Program will also take part.

They will participate in a few sessions of the conference to emphasize once again on the key role of the students in creating a new vision for the education of the future.

Right after the global event in Blagoevgrad, on 28th and 29th October, in the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Sofia will be hosted the fifth edition of the National Conference Education 2016.

It is organized by Teach for Bulgaria Foundation and Bulgarian Education 2030 Association with the support of the European Commission, America for Bulgaria Foundation and the Forbes Magazine.

The conference will be attended not only by international experts, representatives of Bulgarian institutions and NGOs, directors and teachers who will emphasize on the topics about highly effective teaching and the importance of equal access to education for the success of every child.

The event will be open by Wendy Kopp, the CEO and founder of Teach for All. The main speaker will be one of the youngest and most successful principals in Great Britain, Max Haimendorf.

He has managed to turn his school into one of the ten best schools in Great Britain despite the unfavorable social and economic environment in which his students live.

Within the forum will be presented a monitoring report about the condition of the education in Bulgaria and the long-term goals we can set to achieve improvement.
