BULGARIANS FROM THE USA AND CANADA SUPPORT TEACH FOR BULGARIA IN APRIL AND MAY
EVERY DONATION TO THE ORGANIZATION UNTIL THE END OF JUNE WILL BE DOUBLED
More than 1,200 Bulgarians from the United States and Canada had the opportunity to learn about Teach for Bulgaria’s work and support the mission of the organization in April and May 2017.
A large part of the Bulgarian diaspora in New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, Montreal and Toronto was able to learn more about the organization’s efforts to ensure equal access to quality education before the “Emigrants” play was staged on tour on the other side of the Atlantic.
“We would like to thank our faithful supporter Orlin Mirchev and the local organizers of the performances as well as actors Kalin Vrachanski and Assen Blatechki who shared the scene with us and allowed us to reach our compatriots who, despite not living in Bulgaria, continue to think about and be committed to the positive change in our country,” Angela Deyanska, Development and Fundraising Manager at Teach for Bulgaria said.
At seven other extremely inspiring meetings, Teach for Bulgaria managed to bring together another nearly 150 supporters of the cause of transforming students. The events were organized with the unreserved support of Ivan and Lilli Panoushevi, Victor Penev, Bogomil Balkanski, Minerva Schools, the Bulgarian School in Waltham, Rossen Dimitrov and Violeta Zhelyazkova, whom we sincerely thank for their commitment and cooperation.
One of the most noble gestures made during the events in the US was by the Bulgarian entrepreneur in San Francisco Bogomil Balkanski, who will double up each individual donation for Teach for Bulgaria by 30 June. You can learn more about his support here. Do not miss to also play the recorded discussion about social mobility and Bulgarian education between Bogomil Balkanski and the CEO Evgenia Peeva-Kirova here.
