Teach For Bulgaria Is Looking for Motivated Teachers for 20 Regions of Bulgaria
The successful application for Teach For Bulgaria’s program “A New Way to Teaching” will go through an intensive training and will start teaching at partner schools of the organization in September of 2021
Teach For Bulgaria is now accepting applications for “A New Way to Teaching” – a leadership and professional development program. “A New Way to Teaching” has been operating for 10 years now and has been helping professionals with diverse backgrounds to become teachers. The past year marked a record interest from the general public with almost 3000 received applications.
Anyone who is interested in applying for the program can do it on our website by November 25.
Applicants are not required to have any prior teaching qualifications. The selected candidates go through a certification process during the program. They are only required to have completed their bachelor’s degree no later than September 1, 2021. A strong motivation to work with children from vulnerable communities is a must. Applicants should be ready to work as teachers full-time for a period of two years.
MORE ABOUT THE PROGRAM
“A New Way to Teaching” is Teach For Bulgaria’s first and most successful program. Participants receive specialized training, mentorship, teaching certification, placement, career development opportunities, resources, networking opportunities, and strong friendships. Training sessions focus on effective teaching and student-centered classroom. They are based on successful models and Teach For Bulgaria’s 10 years of experience. This year made it necessary for us to also train our teachers how to teach online because of the pandemic.
“A New Way to Teaching” was awarded as “Best Training Program” and “Best Professional Development Program” in the Employer of the Year awards for 2018. It is also officially approved by the Ministry of Education and Science. Candidates can find more information here (link in Bulgarian).
RIGOROUS SELECTION
Applicants go through a rigorous selection process which includes an online application form, detailed interviews, and an assessment center. This year all three stages will be entirely online for safety reasons. We have tested our online selection process throughout the years with many applicants who have applied while still living abroad. This makes it even easier for people to apply if they currently live in remote locations.
NEW REGIONS
Teach For Bulgaria is still expanding and working with schools in new regions. “A New Way to Teaching” participants will be able to work at parner schools in 20 regions of Bulgaria – Burgas, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Vratsa, Dobrich, Lovech, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pernik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Razgrad, Ruse, Silistra, Sliven, Sofia City, Sofia Province, Stara Zagora, Targovishte, and Shumen. Their placement will depend on the available positions and the profile of the teachers.
