Daniel Simeonov brings a unique perspective as someone with firsthand experience in the classroom and in working with children from vulnerable communities.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Film and Television Directing / Visual Arts from New Bulgarian University. His encounter with Teach For Bulgaria led to a shift in his career path, and he became a teacher in his hometown—at Neofit Rilski United School in Dermantsi, Lovech Province. Through the New Way to Teaching program, Daniel also earned a master’s degree in English Language Teaching at the middle and high school levels from Plovdiv University.

Regarding his motivation to join the Board of Directors, Daniel shares:
“Teach For Bulgaria’s mission has always been my personal mission, ever since 2016 when I first joined the organization with enthusiasm. Every day, in one way or another, I witness firsthand the transformative impact of Teach For Bulgaria’s work. As a teacher in a rural school, working mainly with Roma children from underprivileged backgrounds, I have dedicated my career to improving educational opportunities for marginalized students. I strongly believe that I can bring a unique perspective on how to scale the successful practices and policies that Teach For Bulgaria has introduced to the Bulgarian education system since its inception. Systemic change is my personal and professional priority, and it is the only way to ensure that every child in Bulgaria has access to quality education, regardless of their background.”
