A bike challenge in support of Teach for Bulgaria for a second year in a row
Monika Zapryanova is going to bike from London to Amsterdam to raise funds in support of Teach for Bulgaria participants.
For the second year in a row one of Teach For Bulgaria’s supporters chose the unconventional but inspiring way to support the success of every child by taking on a bike challenge to raise funds for the participants in the program.
Monika Zapryanova is about to embark on a journey from London to Amsterdam with her bike and three friends this week. She has made the decision to commit to this personal challenge not only to test her physical limits, but also to support Teach For Bulgaria’s work. Monika was inspired by her friend and Teach For Bulgaria true supporter, Yavor Atanasov, who organized a fundraising campaign and biked from London to Barcelona last year. Monika symbolically took the baton from Yavor and his bike challenge with a cause.
She is going to travel for over 400 kilometers in five days and should arrive in the capital of the Netherlands on Monday, June 25.

Monika`s driving motives
Monika shared that what motivated her to support Teach For Bulgaria was the fact that we had all had at least one teacher who managed to drastically change our lives. For her, this had been her primary school teacher in Bulgaria who helped her get accepted to a prestigious mathematical high school where she had plenty of development opportunities.
Monika added that she firmly believed in the mission and significance of Teach For Bulgaria’s work and that the stories of some of the participants in the program had often made her feel emotional and provoked her to think of ways to support the organization.
With her ongoing fundraising campaign Monika not only wants to support the organization, but also to promote our mission.
