Gergana has been a Teacher Support Coordinator in the teachers’ first year of participation in A New Way to Teaching Program since July 2020. Before that she was a participant in the program and taught Geography and Economics and Entrepreneurship at General José de San Martin School 90 in Sofia.
She believes that students are the key to the changes we want to see in the world. They need teachers to support them and to trust them. Gergana is convinced that no matter where he or she lives, or what the economic and social status of his or her parents are, every child should be given quality education and access to different opportunities in order to realize his or her potential and become a thinking adult.
Gergana has a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism from South-West University Neofit Rilski, Blagoevgrad, and additional qualification as a teacher in Geography and Economics from St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo. Gergana spent her last semester at the University in Portugal, as part of the Erasmus+ mobility program.
Gergana’s teachers at the high school were two alumni of the first batch of A New Way to Teaching Program teachers, so she became the first student of program teachers in turn to become a teacher herself.
