Yulia Mishkova
Yulia has been a Senior Specialist in Teacher Training at Teach for Bulgaria since 2018. She was a part of the third batch of program teachers (2013-2015), teaching History at St. Ivan Rilski School 54, Sofia.
Yulia is a graduate of Southeast Europe – Past and Present from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. Shortly after completing her studies, she became a part of Teach for Bulgaria’s program and taught History for 3 years.
The experience she gained as a teacher, as well as her academic interests, convinced her that education was the most meaningful investment for the development of society. She therefore believes that education should develop and meet the individual needs of students, the needs of the present and the challenges of the future.
This is also why she decided to be involved in teacher training and in initiatives and projects to develop civic activity and media literacy. Yulia believes that History lessons are a great tool for developing critical thinking, and is thus trying to pass this on through her participation in the creation of a History textbook and History teaching aids.
