WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Crowdfunding or how to motivate more people to donate?
Crowdfunding is a fundraising method which helps people and organizations support initiatives, projects, or events. It also helps individuals or organizations raise money by reaching out to their network of contacts and motivating them to make donations.
This usually happens through established fundraising platforms such as Global Giving, platformata.bg, etc. Facebook recently made it pretty easy to create fundraising campaigns as well.
Why do we use and like Crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding is a modern, easy, and effective way to reach many people. Thanks to the Internet, a good online campaign can reach its financial goal very quickly. At the same time, by sharing the campaign we can reach new audiences and raise both money and awareness for our mission. This helps us build a strong community, united by the mission for equal access to quality education for every child in Bulgaria and around the world.
How do I choose the right crowdfunding platform?
There are many crowdfunding platforms to choose from as you prepare to challenge yourself for a cause. Perhaps the most important factors you should consider are your current location (Bulgaria or another country) and your target audience. Do some research to find the most suitable platform for your needs. We are ready to support you and share our experience with you. Don’t hesitate to reach out at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How is Teach For Bulgaria going to support me?
We can support you in the planning and during the execution of your challenge. We’d love to tell you more about our work, so you can understand our mission better. We can share some lessons learned or good practices from some of our other supporters’ challenges. We can also share your challenge with our international community of supporters, we can share it via our social network accounts, so it has a chance to reach even more people!
Email us at email@example.com for more information.
How is my challenge going to support Teach For Bulgaria’s mission?
At Teach For Bulgaria we believe that every little bit helps and brings us closer to our big goal – equal access to quality education for every child.
Regardless of how big or small your contribution is, it will help us support the development of the program and our teachers in a sustainable way. The funds that you raise will be invested in the ongoing professional support of our teachers and in the recruitment of new participants and/or supporters.
Last but not least, these challenges help us reach many new people who have the chance to learn more about our work and our cause. Some of them may even become our supporters or get inspired to help our cause in some other way. “Pay it forward” and the impact of your challenge gets even bigger and more meaningful.
Monika Zapryanova’s story is a good example because she got inspired for her 2018 cycling challenge by another Teach For Bulgaria supporter, Yavor Atanasov, who challenged himself to cycle from Paris to Barcelona in 2017.
