Three Vocational High Schools from the Regions of Lovech and Pleven Are on Their Way to Increase Their Effectiveness Thanks to From Vision to Results

The Vocational High School of Construction, Electronics, and Public Service in the town of Teteven and the Vocational High Schools of Mechanical Engineering and Electronics in Lovech and Pleven are going to go through a holistic program in an effort to raise their effectiveness during the 2021/2022 school year. The program From Vision to Results includes training, workshops, and individualized plans for professional support based on each school’s areas of improvement.

From Vision to Results is a program based on Teach For Bulgaria’s expertise. It is only possible for us to provide this type of professional development support to the three vocational schools in the regions of Lovech and Pleven thanks to the financial support provided by Zlatna Panega Cement AD, part of the TITAN group. Prior to this, we supported four schools in Sofia. They participated in the pilot edition of From Vision to Results and were successful in achieving their professional development goals. The Vocational High School of Transportation “Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov” from Pleven is also going to join the current edition of the program.

By the end of 2021 the schools in Lovech, Teteven, and Pleven had their initial training sessions and defined their specific goals. In the beginning of 2022 they will receive additional guidelines and the opportunity to participate in a variety of workshops focused on classroom culture, 21st-century skills, project-based learning, and the 7 Cs of teaching and learning. Each workshop ends with specific next steps in order to help teachers implement what they have learned in the classroom and on a school level as well. There will be a closing conference at the end of the school year in June when all participants will have the opportunity to present their results.

“Each school has its unique challenges, caused by unique factors, which require unique solutions. The program From Vision to Results offers an approach that helps schools get to the core of their challenges and work purposefully to eliminate them. This is the first step towards finding long-term solutions to their deeply-rooted problems,” comments Radostina Boycheva, Senior Regional Development Specialist at Teach For Bulgaria.
