Who Supports Teachers?
Every teacher needs support, especially in their first days in the classroom. This important role and big responsibility is undertaken by Teach For Bulgaria’s training and support coordinators.
Every participant in Teach For Bulgaria’s program works with a coordinator who has teaching experience. Teach For Bulgaria teachers can rely on this professional support for the entire two years in the program.
What does a coordinator do?
- Observes classrooms, holds monthly meetings, gives feedback and guidance so that teachers can improve their work.
- Helps participants identify positive trends and areas of improvement, helps them plan lessons, units, and curricula.
- Supports teachers in their future career development by helping them identify their professional interests and by giving them access to professional development and training opportunities.
What does this look like in practice – see for yourselves in this video. It tells the story of Anton, a second-year teacher in the village of Dermantsi, and his coordinator Zlatina.
