TEACH FOR BULGARIA EXPANDS ITS COVERAGE IN THE REGIONS OF PLEVEN, VELIKO-TARNOVO AND SLIVEN FROM SEPTEMBER 2017
SOCIALLY ACTIVE INDIVIDUALS WANTED TO BECOME MOTIVATING TEACHERS TO STUDENTS IN GREATEST NEED OF SUPPORT
Teach for Bulgaria will expand its activities in three new regions of the country from the beginning of the next school year (2017-2018). These are the districts of Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo and Sliven. The organization is now looking for proactive and motivated individuals to become inspiring teachers to the students in greatest need of support. At the same time, schools can already start submitting applications for teachers to work as part of the program and become partners of Teach for Bulgaria.
“Every year, Teach of Bulgaria is striving to reach more students and schools in Bulgaria by helping active and socially involved individuals to contribute personally to the development of their populated areas and other vulnerable communities in the country. Also, we keep supporting the efforts of the schools we are working with to develop their teaching staff and apply innovative educational solutions to cope with the challenges presented by the environment and the lower motivation of the students”, said from Teach for Bulgaria.
The mission of Teach for Bulgaria is to work towards providing equal access to quality education of each child in Bulgaria regardless of where they live, the school they attend, their ethnic background and the social, economic status of their parents. To this end, the organization has attracted and carefully selected motivated, capable and socially involved individuals to become teachers and change the life of the children they work with. During the two-year program of Teach for Bulgaria, participants will receive targeted training and support for their work at school. They will further develop their professional and personal qualities which will help them to be successful leaders in the education system and society. Individuals are not required to have previous school experience or professional teaching qualification to apply for the program. The approved candidates will acquire teaching capacity within the framework of participation in the program in partnership with accredited Bulgarian universities.
In the next few months, Teach for Bulgaria will be organizing special meetings in Veliko Tarnovo, Pleven, Sliven and other towns in the country, at which the organization is going to present its activities, discuss with attendees the challenges faced by education in different regions and how to work with local communities to solve them.
