TEACH FOR BULGARIA PARTNERS “EDUCATION FOR PROFESSIONS OF THE FUTURE” CONFERENCE
Teach for Bulgaria Foundation is a partner of the “Education for the Professions of the Future” Conference. The event, which is one of the important forums in the field of education during the year, is organized by the Capital Weekly with the support of America for Bulgaria Foundation and will be held on 12 April in the Sofia Event Center.
The conference aims at giving insights into how the school day of today may look in order to be useful for tomorrow. The discussion panels will also cover how the curriculum will include building the skills that the new world requires and what training is needed for teachers and principals so that they can best support their students. The Program of the event includes a conference part with presentations and discussions with foreign and Bulgarian education experts, teachers, principals and business representatives, practical workshops for teachers and principals and an exhibition with modern educational products and services.
Teach for Bulgaria will join the forum with its own stand, where all the guests will be able to learn more about the work and impact of the organization. Foundation representatives will also share additional information with candidates about how to apply for the two-year Program as teachers as well as about the opportunities for partnerships with schools in 13 regions across the country.
Teach for Bulgaria will also be indirectly involved in the main Program of the event through the lecture of Yordan Hodzhev, teacher of natural sciences at “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” School, Chelopech, who is from the 2014-2016 cohort of Teach for Bulgaria’s Program. Yordan is still head of the “I Know and I Can” Center for Extracurricular Engineering and Scientific Activities in the village of Mirkovo, where he has been using 3D printing with his students and they have recently started offering the production of prototype protheses for people in need.
