TEACH FOR BULGARIA PROGRAM TEACHERS AWARDER FOR 24 MAY

Three teachers under TFB’s Program in the Northwest Region of Bulgaria have been recognized for their work on occasion of the Day of Bulgarian Education, Culture and the Slavonic Alphabet — 24 May. Kristina Todorova, Program history teacher, was awarded as the best young teacher at the Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev Vocational School of Food and Agriculture, Lom Municipality, nominated by of her school. Nevyana Todorova, teacher of Bulgarian language and literature at Vassil Evstatiev Aprilov School, Harlets Village, and Yanko Morunov, teacher of geography and music at the “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” School in Bhutan Village accepted congratulations and thank you letters for their work during the year by Kozloduy Municipality.
“For me, this award means that we are on the right track and are doing something meaningful and significant for the community. I would like to thank my colleagues at school because we work together to achieve better opportunities for the students at the school in the village of Bhutan,” Yanko Morunov shared about his award.
Kristina Todorova also commented that this was a huge recognition for her and her students of the efforts made together during the school year on part of her colleagues and the community.
All three teachers have been TFB Program teachers from September 2016, with only Nevyana having had previous pedagogical experience.
Another teacher under the Program — Denka Kovacheva — teacher of English at High School 192 “Hristo Botev” of Bistritsa, also received an award for the holiday. Following a vote she was chosen by the schoolchildren as a teacher of the year.
On occasion of 24 May, principals of TFB partner schools and supporters of the organization were also awarded. We congratulate them all for the hard work and the unabating energy they invest for transforming students!
